Friction:
Brighton raised, multi award winning DJ Friction is a member of an exclusive club. He is one of a handful of DJ's to have smashed through the ranks and become a superstar in his genre simply through an unbelievable talent behind the decks. This year has seen him add more accolades to his ever increasing CV and is regarded by many as not only the most skilled but the most diverse DJ in drum & bass. Whether he's on two or three decks, playing for two hours or four, people are rapidly learning that, drum & bass fanatics or not, a night with Friction will be one to remember.

Alix Perez:
Back for his 4th Masterplan, North London based DJ/producer Alix Perez is one of the strongest young producers in the Drum and Bass scene and undoubtedly one of its most prolific up and coming DJs. Already with a number of releases on established labels such as Shogun Audio, Liquid V, Bassbin, Creative Source, Horizons, Progress, Brigand and Fokuz, there aren't many drum and bass DJs on the circuit without a Perez tune in their bag.

Rock n Roll at the H. O. P. (Horn of Plenty) as it was known was a
regular Friday night club in St. Albans that followed on from the
Crystal Palace. A night featuring
faces that played in the the Horn during the 80's to early 90's.

The Caravans (www.myspace.com/thecaravans)- From Portsmouth formed 1983 a band with a distinct style that cannot be pigeon holed to just Rockabilly, Psychobilly or Neo. A great band doing their own songs with maybe a couple of covers for good measure. Latest release "Whiskey, Women & Loaded Dice"

Jack Rabbit Slim (www.myspace.com/jackrabbitslimuk) - From Cambs frontman Bob played
played the H.O.P. with Bob and the Bearcats. Drummer Paul also with
Rusti Steel & the Tin Tax so it just seemed fitting to have JRS at the reunion too. New album just released on Western Star "Hairdos and Heartaches"

DJ's Little Carl (www.myspace.com/littlecarl) plus special guest DJ Simon who had spent a long term residency at the H.O.P. as well as the Crystal Palace. Another guest DJ Bongo, frontman of the Deltas (another popular H.O.P. band) to spin some tunes for you all.

The guitar, bass and drums trio The Hamsters have long been established as one of our premier live attractions, having performed over 4,000 concerts in 24 years. Although primarily playing their own brand of rootsy Rock, Blues and Americana, they're also widely regarded as the UK's leading interpreters of the music of JIMI HENDRIX & ZZ TOP, and will no doubt be featuring some tonight. The band's guitarist/singer Slim recently had a new interview in Guitarist Magazine, and the lads have just released a new 3-hour double live DVD, titled 'Curse Of The Killer Hamsters!'
"The Hamsters are fabulous: one of Britain's very best live bands" - Bob Harris, Radio 2
"The Hamsters are a great Blues band" - Johnny Walker, Radio 2
"Nobody does the music of Jimi Hendrix and ZZ Top better (apart from the real ZZ Top)” – The Times
"F****** brilliant!" - Suzi Quatro
They'll be playing an early set here at The Horn, kicking off around 9pm until 11pm ish. After this the door price will drop to £3 with a dj providing the sounds until 2am.

Fri 30th Apr GAYMER'S FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE 8.00-2am £5
Event Logo
Gaymers proudly presents its Second 'Friday Night Live' at The Horn. Gaymers are dedicated to helping new artists fulfil their potential. Tonight they showcase the best Rock bands from the Saint Albans area.

Zalinski:
Dispatching distorted hymns for the lost and hopeful, Zalinski's music is a groove heavy rock-out. Venting influences from Radiohead to Stevie Wonder, Blur to Hendrix, Zalinski channel eclectic influences through a feel good funnel.
Distorted Breed: “This is the uncompromising, no-nonsense outfit I’ve wanted all my musical life”. So says Jim Distortion, front man of dirt rock revellers Distorted Breed. The industrial and techno noise of Jim’s previous project Perfect Distortion has been placed on the back burner; Distorted Breed is pure and simple down and dirty, bassy and basic, balls-out rock ’n’ roll.
Pearl handled Revolver:
Pearl Handled Revolver Britains Answer To Dirty Blues” Now with each self-penned original, beautifully crafted by their new line-up, their debut tour has already exceeded all expectations. Jon Lord of Deep Purple sang their praises after their first live performance and with an endorsement of that calibre it is clear that these boys do not disappoint ! Pearl Handled Revolver are electric to watch live.
